This is open for anyone to aid or hinder.
When the Archmage was defeated, the pages of the Grimorum were scattered. Each page has a spell on one side and the counter acting spell on the other. Magus knows that these pages can be dangerous in the wrong hands and thus he's keeping an eye out for them.
I do plan for magus to get the book completed so he can use his magic easier, it'll still wrsken him but not as badly as tapping into a magical source is. Characters who can use magic will be able to use the pages easier but even those who aren't magically gifted are able to do the weaker spells and cause a little chaos.
If anyone's curious or has questions feel free to ask.
