FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
CHARACTER CREATIONQ: I don't see a required word count for personality/history/freeform...
A: That's because there isn't one! We do ask that you be decently thorough, staff need an understanding of your character even if none of us know the series they are from, so one-line history sections won't fly. Just put as much as you feel is necessary.
Q: Are we allowed to take characters from any canon point?
A: Yes, including post-death. Space and time is so distorted due to the war of the gods that the multiverses are affected. Additionally, this means that the portals entered to a specific multiverse may play your character in that universe varying times throughout history.
Q: Should we tag spoilers in histories/freeform apps as well as threads?
A: Yes, please! Of course staff may have to spoil ourselves in some regards, but this enables us to choose one of us who doesn't mind so much. As for threads, this helps people avoid reading them by accident-- particularly open threads.
Q: How far are we allowed to go with headcanons in regards to character history and personality?
A: Some characters do not have extensive backgrounds or personalities, so we allow you to supplement with headcanon. Please keep it within the realm of possibility and nothing that directly contradicts canon.
Q: I want to age my character up, am I allowed?
A: We ask that you keep your character to their current age or very near-future. We would prefer that you not make a character that is canonically around 15 years old to be 18 years old, or vice versa. If your character doesn't have a canon age we ask that you be reasonable.
Q: Am I allowed to app characters as a pair?
A: It depends and is mostly on a case-by-case basis, please send the staff your inquiry.
Q: Do you allow OCs? What about fandom-based OCs?
A: The answer to both is no at this time, unless it's an OC in the form of a "create your own protagonist" game.
Q: Help! My character has the same name as another one that's already registered!
A: This inevitably happens with multifandom RP, especially since we allow canon doubles. Please register your character as NAME_SERIES then and you can change it to just their name in the "display name" field on the profile. If you are applying as a character that has gone inactive and their account hasn't been deleted yet, please alert staff and they will attend to it shortly.
Q: How do we earn more than the five character slots?
A: Each character you have must have 20 posts and be in two threads, each with a different character. This is to prevent continually threading with one person only to gain more slots. We encourage you to role play and talk with your fellow members, after all!
Q: What about characters that are animals (e.g. Simba, Firestar, Gin, Twilight Sparkle)? Do they remain animals when we create them, or can we make them human/gijinkas?
A: We would prefer you keep them in animal format, regardless of whether or not they have the ability to speak to humans in their canon, they will be able to on the Multiverse. Most worlds allow for talking creatures so they would keep their quadrupedal form across the multiverse as well. However, there might be some ultra-realistic worlds where you could have them transform! In that event we would prefer you not use any sort of animanga faceclaim, as to not be confused with anyone who may have that character on the board. Please use original art or simply write a description in your post.LORE AND WORLDBUILDINGQ: Am I allowed to have my character change faction in RP?
A: Of course! Please just alert staff of the change and we will change your character's member group as well as move their application to the appropriate faction board.
Q: How does traveling in the multiverse work?
A: There are portals that look like beams of light in each universe that allow characters to travel the multiverse easily. Of course, if they have access to a space ship that is capable of making such a jump, you are allowed to use that as well. All multiverses on the board have a portal that connects to Asphodel Meadows in the Center of the Universe. From there, they may wander around the Center of the Universe or go through another portal to another part of the multiverse.
Q: My character's world is not a board on the multiverse. What happens?
A: In this case, if you have not yet earned your character's board on the multiverse or a castmate has not earned it for you, your character will wake up in Asphodel Meadows unsure of how they got there and aware that all the portals seen are not the one that connects to their home. Once the Universe Application has been filled out and accepted your character may travel home. In the even that your character's universe is already on the board, you may have them begin their journey there or have them start in the Center of the Universe with no memory as to how they arrived.
Q: What happens to a board if all castmates from that multiverse are no longer on the site?
A: You, the members, choose whether or not it stays. In the event this happens we will post that it has been destroyed between the battle of the God of Light and the God of Dark, and there is a task that must be completed with in a certain timeframe to ensure it does not meet its demise and end up in the Underworld. Sign ups will take place for this event, some possibly being faction specific or a battle between them. If the requirements are met then the board is safe. If not, all threads are archived, and the remnants of the world become part of the Underworld.
Q: Am I required to bring my character's canon world on the board?
A: Nope! A character searching for their home to never find it does make for an interesting arc and we are not one to deny that!
Q: How do characters that speak different languages communicate?
A: Everything is automatically translated into a language the other person understands by the power of the Gods. This goes for talking animals, too!
Q: Can my character die on site?
A: Yes-- due to the warped reality of time and space your character never technically "dies", but they will lose their physical form much like the Gods. They will be transparent, unable to be seen by anyone and wake up in the Underworld upon death. To return to life they must complete a task given to them by one of the gods. We ask that you not do this too often or for shock value, though!
