MAGUS
1,024 MALE HE/HIM STRAIGHT HUMAN NEUTRAL |
Personality- Once Magus used to be rather mean and biased towards the Gargoyles who helped defend Castle Wyvern. However, he has long since moved past that due to the events of the past, where he regretted his actions caused by anger and fearing he had lost someone he loved. While he has no ill will towards the gargoyles, he expects little forgiveness from the rest of the clan; as Goliath had forgiven him but the rest of his clan wasn't with him during this time. While he is kind in his own ways and intelligent, he feels very useless without his magic and ultimately this caused him to give up on pursuing the love of his life as he felt he had little worth without his magic and thus without the spell book Grimorum Arcanorum. While he helped raise the hatchlings on Avalon, he wasn't as close to them as the Princess and Tom were; as the two were a couple, the hatchlings say them as their parents. Due to waking up in a strange place, he is both confused but intrigued on how he was revived and aged back to his younger self during the time of Castle Wyvern. However he feels as if he has broken his dying promise to PRincess Katherine and wants to find her more than anything to apologize to her. History- Most of Magus's childhood is a unknown mystery, however he lived within Castle Wyvern under the teachings of his master The Archmage. The Archmage was a powerful wizard and was even the castle's top Advisor due to his power. They were teaching Magus how to use the Grimorum Arcanorum and all it's secrets when the man was around the child, when they weren't the young magic user found themselves slowly falling for Princess Katherine. When he was nine however, his Master's true colors came to shine when they were banished; for something Magus knew not of. Taking the book from the castle, The Archmage returned one night and poisoned the King. Summoned to try and save him, Magus regretted to inform them he could nothing without the Grimorum Arcanorum in which three of the Gargoyles of the castle were sent to retrieve it and they succeed. Resulting in the young wizard being able to save the King and be made Court Magician despite his young age. Growing up, Magus realized his crush on the Princess but there was little chance she would take note. When she took over as ruler, he was made her top advisor which resulted in her talking to him often about her dislike of the gargoyles and in turn, making him not too fond of them either despite the many times they were saved by the night living creatures and their good deeds. As young adults things took a bad turn for Castle Wyvern, vikings were attempting to take the Castle and the only means to keep them at bay was with the Gargoyles aid. The castle took in many refuges during this time but betrayle resulted in the Castle's destruction. The Captain of the guard and one of the gargoyles who had saved the King; Demona, betrayed the Castle. Demona had grown to dislike the humans and she wanted the castle for her clan alone, while the Captain of the Guard wanted to defend the gargoyles from being destroyed. Sadly he was tricked and many of the clan were smashed in the stone forms during the day. Taken prisoner along with the Princess and all the refuges, the wizard had to endure the vikings foolishly tearing out valuable pages. When one of the vikings named Hakon took the princess out of the tent, Magus soon heard a scuffle and the Princess screaming as if she fell off the cliff; she was saved from falling to her death. The Gargoyles had appeared to try and help in which their leader Goliath saved the princess from falling, however he hadn't returned yet and when Magus freed himself, he was overcome by anger and believing he lost the one person that ever mattered. Foolishly, he took his anger out on the gargoyles. Casting a spell that would put them to sleep for a thousand years. When Goliath brought the princess back, he was shocked and immedeatly regretted his deed. He was unable to reverse the spell for the pages that were torn out, held the counter spell. Goliath requested to be with his clan and put under the spell but also for the eggs back at the castle to be taken care of. PRincess Katherine and Magus agreed to do this and Goliath was placed under the spell after they got the sleeping gargoyles to the castle. Retrieving the eggs was simple, a young child named Tom accompanied them as well. Magus knew of a place that would be safe for the eggs, the mystic island of Avalon. Taking the eggs as well as Tom and Katherine into the sea, he summoned the weird sisters to allow them entry. However Magus couldn't go due to him having the Grimorum. Knowing full well that they would never be able to leave the island and he loved Katherine, Magus surrendered the book to the Weird sisters as payment for him to enter the island. They accepted and the group was allowed to enter. At first, Magus had some hope of being with Katherine. But as time slowly passed on the island, he felt he had nothing to offer her without her magic and it seems, as Tom became of age the Princess was favoring him. This resulted in Magus yielding and not trying to win his love's affection. Time passed differently on the island, while TOm became a man, Katherine and Magus barely aged. It took forty-two years for the eggs to hatch and while Magus did his best to help raise them, Tom and Katherine were viewed as parents in the hatchlings' eyes. A thousand years past, Magus now older with a beard and a walking staff lived peacefully on the island. However with the arrival of Goliath and Eliza, came to return of the Archmage who had gotten the Grimorum back and they had been foolish enough to swallow it in order to use it's power even more. Magus choose to aid Eliza in waking the sleeping King on the island, where she learned of his affection toward the Princess and tried to encourage him. Tapping into the magic to defeat the guards of the sleeping King and to awaken them to help GOliath fight off the Archmage, the magic he used was too much of a strain on his body. Katherine and the others arrived in time to say a few words and Magus promised that he would never leave Katherine and he was laid to rest where the SLeeping King had been. However, imagine the surprise Magus received when he opened his eyes elsewhere and |
Magic- Magus is a gifted wizard and for his whole life, it is what he's been trained for. However most of his power comes from a powerful spell book called, The Grimorum Arcanorum. Without this book, most of his magic is either non-existent or very weak. The only reason he can still use some magic without is, is having learned how to borrow the magic that naturally resides in the place he is in. Doing this though instead of using the book, is much more draining and exhausting. If he uses too much magic this way, then it will kill him.
Staff- originally this is crafted to merely help him get around as he got older. Due to it being made from a tree grown on Avalon though, it helps serves as a medium like the Grimorum Arcanorum did with magic. Allowing him to channel the natural magic from the place to use for a spell.
