Rose
16 Female She/Her Asexual Bi-Species HERALDS OF LIGHT |
Physical Description: They are a meek and small thing, with wild eyes as dark as a cloudless night, and a healthy, albeit willowy, form. The heritage of the humans is obvious in those slender lines, in that otherworldly loveliness that touches their features, high cheekbones made for a life among the aristocracy, soft lips, a delicate jaw framed by flowing waves of sable. Their golden skin is clearly roughed, bruised, and battered, signs of a hard lived life but one that is slowly fading from both mind and body, with warm undertones that mark their heritage. There is a strange quality to their looks, an often distant and unpredictable aspect to those lovely dark eyes that can be off-putting, even when their presence manage to entice. Yet they carry themselves with an effortless grace and levity, every movement marked with a youthful sort of arrogance, a presence somewhere between commanding and gently compelling. Her attire is that from a world of struggle. Simple and functional in design. A long coat of warm whool encompasses her entire form right down to her ankles. under which she wears a turtleneck sweater of light blue wool and black tights with several runs and holes in them with evidence suggesting she has stitched them up in a hurry. Over the tights she wears a white business skirt that clings tightly rather than flowing, and is likely the closest thing she had to a functional skirt on hand. Overall the outfit shows heavy evidence of home repair. Shining sable hair is worn mostly loose, a few pins of burnished silver holding choice pieces back from their face before the rest falls down their neck, thin and almost unhealthy looking, as if they might be low on vitamin D. On their right ring finger a band of rose gold gleams, set with sapphire and jet between simple, open circles that resemble the links to a chain, though it is old and dull with age. Personality:Rose tries her best to be a brave and fiersome girl, despite her more waifish looks. A firecracker full of the grit and determination only ever found in those who have lived in hell itself. At the same time however she is only a teenager who has grown up in a world where love and innocence are things to be crushed out and replaced with apathy and fear. Apathy has never entered her heart, indeed most could say she loves and forgives too freely, but fear has become most of her life and there are precious few with whom she can manage to feel safe. Born to a tough time however and despite their looks, rose possesses nothing of a more feminine specimen. A tomboy at heart Rose will not hesitate to get her hands dirty and is skilled in many a more...primal skill. From tending wounds both on pokemon and humans (well, herself only really), to sewing her own clothes, finding her own food, rose will be the first to get her hands dirty and the last to complain about it. Despite this however, her determination is weak and her heart heavy. She went into the matter of rescuing the future with no reguard for her own life, no care for it, she onlt wanted the others to be happy. Then she realized her friends may not survive to /live/ in the future and though she tries to stay determined, she's also quite pliable when it comes to their fates. Canon Point:After the world was saved and her future erased, Rose was prepared to leave all that she'd known behind and join grovyle in.....the afterlife? But then she found herself somewhere quite different. History:You were born into the very pits of hell itself. A child. A baby girl, struggling your way out of your mothers womb with a battle cry of triumph into your fathers arms. Bloody, tired, crying, but alive. From that point on you had to greet each day like a warrior. Life was not kind to a child, nor an adult, life was simply unkind and harsh. You were barely a week old when your mother died, bringing you into the world draining the last bits of strength she had left. But you would live on, your father was determined that you would live on. He watched you carefully for the following weeks and months as you were weaned off of breastmilk and onto formula until you were finally in the clear. Your father died when you were six. But he did not leave you with nothing. He taught you how to survive in the unkind world to which you were born. How to hunt, cook, repair, to do what was necessary to survive, though perhaps he didn't expect you to be so....generous with your skills. You would often go out into the wilds and tend to the wounded pokemon, helping however you could. Most attacked, but knowing that you helped even a few souls was a comfort to your more innocent and hopeful nature. Then came the day that the pokemon turned on you in droves. They were scared and hurt, you understood. You didn't want to die, but you wouldn't hurt them, and so you closed your eyes and waited for the pain.....but it never came. Upon opening you eyes you spotted a young treecko, young, but fierce and determined as yourself, and despite your differences in specie, the two of you stayed together after that. He protected you from the pokemon and you watched his back, in time your bond even allowed him to evolve into Grovyle against all odds. The two of you formed a bond that is impossible to describe in words. Friends and partners, perhaps in a different time and had you been a pokemon.....well you weren;t and it didn;t matter. But fate is never that kind. One day, you discovered that, like your ancestors you would never know, you had an ability to see backwards and forwards into time. You had no control how or when this would happen, only that it happened around grovyle, and later your pokepal partner, and with this ability you could see the timegears, the key to saving the desolate future you and grovyle lived in. Finally the directionless journey you had been on had direction and you set off with the intent to find the time gears and restore the world. Then you met celebi. A small and pink creature, a kind guardian of time, unlike the tyrant guardian who ruled your night world. Celebi had no hope for the world or time itself, but from the pair of you they found a purpose, a goal, and vowed to help how they could. You all devised a plan, to go back in time and fix the past, so that this nightmarish hell never existed. There would be costs however. Namely the sacrificing of all born into this hell. You could live with the loss of yourself, knowing you would live on in your sacrifice, and though the thought broke your heart, you shared the same hope with your partner, a hope he seemed to absolutely internalize and for the first time, you felt the gentle touch of anothers hand over your own. Perhaps in another life you could be reborn together, different species be damned. From then on you began to train and prepare. Ready for the day that you would both leave and search the timegears out in what months celebi could provide you. Grovyle learned moves to protect both himself and you, you worked to extend your stamina so that you could use your dimensional scream more often and for longer periods, eventually it was time to go, and you felt his soft hand around your own once more. Until suddenly you weren't holding it anymore, nor could you even remember that you had been holding a hand, or known grovyle, or that you were born in hell. You could scarcely remember that you hadn't always been a chikorita who just happened to take a nap on the beach and take the longest nap that ever was. There you were found by a pokemon who would soon, however unintentionally, replace grovyle in your broken mind. A friend who gave you life and purpose in a world where you could scarcely remember who you were. Together you joined the adventurers team and made team pokepals. Life fell into a happy rythym, you weren't complete per say but you felt better as time went on. You helped your partner accomplish their dream of forming a rescue team and learned to trust them, until one day your dimensional scream returned to you in your new form, though you could not name it and initially kept it a secret from everyone. In time however this ability would prove to be your most useful tool in saving the past you had come to love and the future you were determined to save. News of time gears being stolen eventually reached the guild and everyone seemed afraid, you were too once their importance was explained to you. But at the same time, something in you seemed, happy, excited is a better word. You couldn't explain it at the time you just felt that there had to be more to it than what you knew. It would be some time until you knew just how right you were though. Life returned to normalacy once more. You had adventures, made friends, you even made enemies in a rival team, Team Skull, and then the expedition was announced. Originally only a select few teams were going to go, but in the end the guildmaster declared that all teams should go, they never were really great at making decisions. The trip eventually led you to see your first time gear. Though the journey wasn't easy. Team skull proved themselves to be traitors, your partners previous stone a deus ex machine, and a statue that could magically clear fog! Still as you stared at the beautiful sight your gut filling with a strange sense of excitement and contentment you realized just how amazing your life with your new partner was, and though your mind and heart could not replace your forgotten partner, you came to prize your new one in an entirely different way. Then you met Dusknoir. It was just a routine day on a routine mission for a few of your friends, he helped you out with the mission. He was polite and charming, suave even, but something about him made you uneasy, though you tried to mask this underneath a friendly smile. Especially because he was kind enough to explain her 'dizzy spells' to you. He seemed to smile when you told him your name but that just enforced the notion you needed to be careful around him. It was shortly after this encounter that you heard of more time gears being stolen and that the theif was identified as a grovyle. The guildmaster declared that the guild was going to devote it's entire force to seeing that grovyl was captured, brought to justice (though you did honestly wonder what sort of 'justice' system these people might have), and the Time Gears returned to their rightful place. You and your partner were assigned to secure one of the remaining time gears in the desert. Without wasting time for anything the pair of you were off. Perhaps you ought to have prepared better because just when you thought you had found the time gear, safe and secure with a powerful guardian, grovyle showed up and managed to overwhelm both your team and the guardian, you struggled in vain, but in the end, h escaped with another time gear. But for every bitter loss there is a crushing victory. When two fellow guild members returned and you happened to touch a crystal they found, you saw grovyle threatening the guardian of another time gear. Given that even you didn't know wether your visions were of past, present, or future, the guild decided a 50% chance that the gear would still be there was worth it and you all headed up. You and your partner managed to intercept Grovyle before he could steal the gear, and though you barely survived the fight (in fact, dusknoir was the REAL reason you won), you managed to defeat grovyle, he got away due to your distraction with how the pair seemed aquainted, but the gear was secured, and that was the real victory. Shortly after, Dusknoir held a meeting at the town square where he explained how he had come from the future, in chase of the fugitive Grovyle, which by extension meant that they both were from the future and that whatever grovyle's plans with the time gear, it would ruin far more than any one pokemon could imagine. And while this all seemed terrible, it ended rather suddenly when Dusknoir announced he had captured grovyle just a few days later. You were glad, and relieved, that your time had been secured. Something inside you felt strange though, a part of you felt....upset and you couldn't understand. The future was secure, your time safe, why did you feel like weeping and screaming? You tried to mask this under a happy smile as you and your partner went to say goodbye, but the whole time, you couldn't take your eyes of grovyle....nor he you, and that feeling only intensified. Until suddenly, and for the second time in your life, you found yourself falling through time.....and grovyle still wouldn't take his eyes off of you. The next thing you knew you're tied up to a pillar of some sort, dusknoir had completely changed into some maglamaniacal villain, and your partner was in shock, so were you to a degree, but at the same time you weren't. Grovyle was there too. He told you that if you all don't escape now you would die here, and really you had every reason to believe him. So you got the sableeyes dusknoir controlled to attack you and then used a luminous orb to escape. Exhausted the trio of you continued to travel, through a cave and to a frozen waterfall. You tried to touch the frozen water to see what had happened to it. But when you touched it nothing happened and so the pair of you concluded that time truly was frozen here somehow, of course that only brought up more questions, but standing there and staring at frozen water wouldn't answer them, and so you marched on. You managed to track down Grovyle who had gotten himself captured by an angry ghost, and after rescuing him you all agreed that staying together was probably your best route. Despit this, and despite the fact that right now, grovyle -did- seem to be the more trustworthy person, your partner seemed cautious to trust him. Still, Grovyle tried to tell you that he didn't steal the timegears, not really. He was trying to collect the gears and put them back in a place called temporal tower where they, supposedly, belonged, and in all honesty, you believed him. Your partner didn't, but between your newfound trust in grovyle, admittedly borne of not being able to trust anyone else in this time, and the logic the grass pokemon laid out, your partner chose to trust him as well. Travelling through the forest on your way to heavens knows where, you met celebi, a time travelling pokemon, and finally you understood what grovyle might be planning. Now a group of four you continued to travel until being cornered by Dusknoir. He then proceeded to tell you everying in a strange bout of honestly. You were human once, and Grovyle's former partner, a fact even he wasn't aware of given his reaction. Dusknoir dragged you and most of your group, excluding celebi, away. Where he brought you, you did not know. But he was speaking with a creature that grovyle identified as Primal Dialga, a time pokemon like celebi. You thought you were doomed to die there in the future until celebi found you and helped you to escape back to your time, though you seriously wondered why she hadn't just done that in the first place. Ironically enough you landed back on the same beach you had begun your strange journey on. Rather than return to your guild with a wanted criminal in tow, your partner offers to take you both to his house, which you all agree is the best place. Once there you all agree the next step will be to gather the time gears and get them to the tower, time to be a hero again. You track down the first timegear in Treeshroud forest, yet despite the timegear being there time is frozen. Grovyle said that it was because temporal tower was collapsing and leaves you to find the rest of the gears. Your partner then suggests you return to the guild and you agree. The guild was so happy to see you return safely. You were crying, and so was your partner, and your friends. It was more warmth and safety than you'd felt in so long. But eventually heartwarming time was over and gave way to discussion. You explain everything to them, and really not having much else to go on, they trust you, and so you and charmander set off to find torkoal, the only pokemon who might know how to get you to temporal tower. Torkoal, is about as useless to you as dirt. Until he manages to remember the ominous 'proof' you will need to get to the tower. Which just so happens to be your partners special treasure. though he still didn't remember HOW to get there, you at least had the means to get there and fix both present and future. Finally you receivied word that brine cave might hold the answers you seek as far as getting to the tower. So off you went, just you and your partner, hoping the grovyle might be out there somewhere and okay, not even sure why you cared so much for a friend you barely remembered, but you did. Using your partners relic you were able to summon a lapras who then offered to take you to the tower and from there nothing could stop you.You arrived at the fable tower and despite the fear in you gut, you swallowed it back and began the climb. Then you came to the Rainbow Stoneship, the final step between your group and the top of the tower where you needed to be. You were just about to put in the relic fragment in the indent to power it up when Dusknoir knocked you down the stairs. After the trio of you banded together and managed to subdue him, grovyle told you to go and power up the stoneship once more which you obliged. When you came back Grovyle and Dusknoir were grappling and Grovyle said he was taking Dusknoir back to the future and that this is where you had to part. You started crying like a child and Grovyle told you that though the parting hurt he was lucky to have known you, and then he disappeared.Despite both of you crying for grovyle you boarded the bridge and tavelled futher up. At the top spire you found five indents that looked as though they were meant for the time gears, but before you could move to insert them you were intercepted by primal dialga who thought you were here with ill intent and could not be convinced otherwise. If you had ever thought you were going to die, now was surely the time, but against all odds you succeeded, if only barely breathing, but you survived. Dialga knocked out, your partner moved to place the time gears where they belonged and suddenly you could feel time moving once more as it should. Dialga rose once more and seemed themselves again and you knew suddenly that you had really done it! The whole trip back you felt your body growing heavy. You were tired, so very tired, and you just wanted to sleep. This is what dusknoir meant, what you had always wanted. To erase a bad future and replace it with a good one, even at the cost of the lives born to that future. So when you could not walk anymore you collapsed against your sobbing partner and let the darkness consume you |

Susceptability: In her Chikorita Form rose has a weakness to fire as is common for fire pokemon.
Teenage Girl: With all the hormones and rushed decisions this would imply!
