PERSONALITY Alex is more of the silent type when it comes to his life. He's consumed people and absorbed their memories, he has killed many soldiers (marines and Blackwatch), and saved New York City from being NUKED of all things. He doesn't like talking about it. Mostly because of the reaction he might get if he talks about it to someone he's opened up to. He's done it once already with Dana and that didn't work out well. He has a grudge against war and soldiers; especially after what he has seen with Blackwatch. And especially with the REAL Alex Mercer. Virus!Alex is disgusted by their actions. After consuming the many soldiers out on patrol back in New York, Alex has developed a sense of morality. He may not be human, but he sure feels like it. He is always searching for that sense of belonging. He just steals the looks of those he consumes, pretend to be them, accomplish a goal, return to normal. He can never catch a break. All Alex can do right now is look for a place and time to think. Alone. Oh yeah, this is Prototype 1 Alex, not Prototype 2. |
Alex is a shapeshifter, able to turn his body into many things. Usually he turns his limbs into various weapons. For example, he can turn his hands into claws, his right arm into a large blade, his arms with more strengthened mass to throw things farther, wrecking-ball fists, and a whip-fist that can grapple stuff (and act like a whip). He also has access to thermal vision. Oh, he also can form armor on his body and create a shield that he can sheath on his back. Alex also has the power to "consume" people. This means he can absorb people down to the genetic level in a flurry of tendrils. Once consumed, Alex absorbs the memories and knowledge of that person and can mimic that person completely in appearance, voice, AND personality while retaining his own. He also has super strength, super speed, he can run up walls without falling, latch onto walls by shifting his biomass, do parkour, and use a variety of ranged weapons like guns and rocket launchers. He is also able to drive TANKS and HELICOPTERS with ease.
HISTORY Three weeks ago, someone unleashed a deadly virus upon New York City. Alex Mercer wakes up with no memories of his past just before he gets cut open by medical examiners in a morgue. From that point on, Alex set off to find the truth with the help of his sister Dana. He starts off by finding this girl, Elizabeth Greene, in the place he used to work at; Gentek. He unknowingly freed her, allowing a more dangerous infection to take place. There were mutant zombies, Hunters, and Elizabeth was at the center of it all. It is then that Blackwatch entered and quarantined the city. Alex continued his search while trying to stop Elizabeth's infection. The infection part is where he got help from his ex girlfriend, Karen Parker. Unfortunately, Karen worked for Blackwatch and betrayed him, allowing a soldier, Specialist Captain Cross, to inject Alex with a parasite (made from the genetic material Alex collected for Karen) that restricted him from using his powers. With the help of Bradley Ragland, he is able to rid himself of the parasite. After telling his sister of his dirty deeds, Dana gets kidnapped by a Hunter and is brought to Elizabeth Greene. Alex finds her (after a battle with the newly formed Surpreme Hunter) but she is "unresponsive but stable" as Ragland says. After being contacted by a mysterious caller, Alex returned to his quest to find the truth. Needless to say, quest completed. Turns out the REAL Alex Mercer died just after HE released the original deadly virus at Penn Station. The Alex we follow is actually the embodiment of the BLACKLIGHT virus, a bioweapon engineered by Gentek scientists under Blackwatch's supervision. After consuming the last person he needed (and battling the Surpreme Hunter one last time), Alex stopped a plan (Codename: FIREBREAK) to nuke New York City (which would have stopped the infection but would have taken many innocent lives). With all that over, Alex is left with stopping Elizabeth's infection of REDLIGHT, the original bioweapon Blackwatch had back in Hope, Idaho. And this is where we start off. |
