PERSONALITY { suicidal thoughts / violence } DAZAI OSAMU can, at times, be very sadistic. His methods of killing are often in the form of some hedonistic desire to find a reason to live (so he believes, that he might find one). His enemies are his prey, as he is the predator. Cold and calloused is he around those who he even is aligned with, not showing his true feelings to those around him, or even those he may consider his friends. A desire to please is only ever-present around a certain man who showed him the 'purpose' in life he so desires. Without the presence of his hedonistic sadism, he truly believes that there is no purpose to his life. A deceitful man is he, capable of manipulating any type of person. All in all, he is certainly a force to be reckoned with, caring not about the lives of himself or those around him. A man with suicidal thoughts rolling around in his brain, he seeks to find a clever and interesting method of suicide. Be it from hanging upside down by his ankles and bleeding himself out or downing a cocktail made of bleach, he strives to find the ideal method of suicide. Perhaps the purpose to live he so desperately craves to find has not yet been found . . . Despite the colrer parts of his personality, he can certainly lighten up around those he deems as his friends. He is playful and seemingly carefree, making jokes and acting vaguely childish. That being said, getting the elusive DAZAI OSAMU to open up is no easy feat. Other than that, emotions do not come easy to him. Deemed a 'human failure' due to his ability, as well as a demon prodigy by his peers, human emotions to a normal degree are things he does not understand. |

HISTORY { implied child abuse / violence } Not much is known about the history of the elusive DAZAI OSAMU, Demon Prodigy of the Port Mafia. He was brought to the Port Mafia at a very, very young age (perhaps the age of twelve or thirteen, it is all a blur to him) and was mentored and raised by the esteemed then-doctor Ougai Mori. Such a ruthless mentor he was, raising a 'son' without the light children must be nurtured with. To DAZAI though, Mori was the light that would pull him out of his darkness — only for him to later find out that he was just the moon all along. Mori was ruthless and manipulative, pampering DAZAI with the praise he so desperately craved from the man who claimed to give him purpose, before ripping the rug out from under him. He was conditioned to come to Mori for help, even if it was Mori that the problem stemmed from in the first place. Dazai trusted (and still trusts) him wholeheartedly. Enough to allow himself to be paired with a boy who was a near stranger to him, but is now his partner. They form Soukoku, which had toppled an entire organization within a single night. His partner is an esteemed mafioso by the name of Nakahara Chuuya. At the age of fourteen, he witnessed his beloved mentor kill the previous Mafia boss. He was violently ill, to be sure, and was making rash, impulsive decisions, but Mori was there as a doctor. Mori slit the man's throat as DAZAI watched, frozen and a bit frightened of what may come if he were to snitch. Mori then struck a deal with the young mafioso — "The Boss died and entrusted the Mafia to me in his will. You are my witness." He became a Mafia Executive at the age of sixteen, earning himself the title of Youngest Executive in Port Mafia History. He is very good at what he does (that is; killing, manipulating, you name it) which is what gave him the ability to be an executive so early on in the first place. That, and the promise of keeping his lips shut. Currently, he thinks he is doing just fine, killing and ordering his underlings and simply doing what it is a human failure of a Mafia Executive does. During his free time, he spends it at a bar called LUPIN. He drinks (underage) with his two friends Oda Sakunosuke and Sakaguchi Ango, along with a very fat Calico cat named Sensei. |
